Mesothelioma – Who all are at a greater risk?

Everyone exposed to asbestos particles can be at risk. Any person who has exposed to these poisonous particles can develop asbestos related diseases. Mainly the risks are for the workers who are working in shipbuilding, mining and milling, manufacturer of asbestos textiles, insulation work in construction and building ,break repair and other trades related to the exposure of the asbestos particles.

This Mesothelioma disease is mainly found in males who work in this occupation and deal with the asbestos containing products. People families member may inhale the asbestos particle brought into the home on the clothes, shoes, hair of the worker, skin etc. People who live or work near the asbestos related operations might inhale the asbestos fiber and might be at risk.

The amount of asbestos particles vary as the person who has exposed to; the concentration of fiber in the air, the duration of the exposure, the person breathing rate, and weather condition. Now a day’s people are less likely to be at risk as compared to the past because there is an increased awareness about the harm of the asbestos particle and related disease, work practices and the government regulation.

Asbestos particle doesn’t harm until and unless asbestos particles loose, disturbs and float in the air, once it exposed to the air it is than able enter in the human body and cause the cells. The risk of developing the asbestos related disease depends on the extent of the exposure to the asbestos encountered and the industrial setting where it was encountered.

Asbestos also occurs in different type and physical sates, however it is suggested that whatever the form of asbestos should be considered to be harmful and steps should be taken to observe the disease and precautions must be taken.
